It is important to note that the deal is not done. But an offer is expected in the coming days, sources tell @SINow, and an announcement could come over the weekend or next week.

The 35-year-old Freeman has been considered a rising star in the coaching community for several seasons, including four at Cincinnati where he was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for Luke Fickell.
He was a highly regarded recruit in the class of 2004 and spent five seasons at Ohio State, where he played in two national championship games, was part of four Big Ten championship teams and the first Buckeyes class to beat Michigan five times.
Freeman started his coaching career at Ohio State as a graduate assistant under Jim Tressel in 2010 then spent two seasons at Kent State and four at Purdue before reuniting with Fickell, his position coach at OSU.
